On the webinar, a lot of you asked me the same question: "Can I edit my AI Start Here page?"

Until this week, the answer was no. Now it's yes.

Before I show you how, here's why this one page matters so much.

Why this page matters

When ChatGPT or Google's AI recommends your tour, the guest doesn't stop there. They ask follow up questions. What time do I show up? How far is the drive? Is it good for kids? Is it accessible?

AI answers those questions from what it can find about you. If it can't find the answers, it has to guess. Or it recommends someone it understands better.

You might be thinking, "I've got all that on my website already." I promise you, you don't. Not at the depth AI is looking for.

Think of your website like an iceberg. The top is what guests and Google see. Underneath is everything else: every detail, and the answer to every question a guest could ask. Your AI Start Here page is that bottom part of the iceberg. It's the library of you, in one place, written for AI.

What our research found

We tracked 530 questions about 34 tour and activity operators across ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Perplexity. That's more than 400,000 AI answers over six months.

This one page has been shown to increase AI visibility by 121%. Operators with an AI Start Here page showed up in 53% of the questions we tracked. Operators who did nothing showed up in 24%.

AI also cited these pages directly as a source, 5,784 times during the study. The top page alone was cited 1,387 times. On average, these pages got about ten times the citations of a typical operator blog post.

If your website is on Gondola

Every Gondola website already has an AI Start Here page. We built yours for you, free. It lives at yourdomain.com/llm-start-here, and there's a link to it in your footer.

It's now a regular page in your editor, so you can edit it just like any other page.

1. Log in and open your editor like you normally would.
2. Click the page drop down at the top and pick AI Start Here.
3. Click Edit Section, then click Expand to open the text full screen.
4. Make your changes and click Publish.

One honest note: the first version was written automatically from your website and your reviews. So read it once, top to bottom, and fix anything that isn't quite right. When a guest asks a question, AI pulls its answer from this page, so every answer should sound the way you'd say it.

And when something changes in your business, change it here too.

If you're in the Genesis program

You have the advanced version. Your page builds itself from your website, your tours and your reviews, and it stays up to date as those change.

You don't edit it in the editor. You manage it in a new section of your dashboard called AI Knowledge.

1. Log in to your dashboard and click AI Knowledge in the menu on the left.
2. Your questions are sorted into four groups: Customer Questions, Destinations & Things to Do, Reviews & Proof, and Your own questions.
3. Click Edit on any question, change the answer, and click Save.
4. Hide or delete anything that doesn't belong. Add your own questions if something's missing.
5. Click Preview Page to see how it looks on your site.
